This infobox template is for religions or religious denominations. Some parameters are designed primarily for Christian denominations, but the template can be applicable to other religions when any inapplicable parameters are left blank.

Usage

To use this template, simply copy and paste the following text into the article and fill in any of the parameters. Only "name" is required.

Parameters

An explanation of what each parameter is. For more information, ask on the talk page.

1. icon = Optional icon above the organization name (specify an image file and size)
2. name = the name of the denomination
3. native_name = the name of the denomination in the organization's native language (if it is not in English and it is not the same name used in the above field)
4. native_name_language = ISO 639-1 code for the language used in the above field
5. image = any image associated with the denomination (logo)
6. imagewidth = width of image, default "200px." Recommend under 200px. Used when available image is low-resolution.
7. alt = alternative text to be displayed describing image.
8. caption = a caption for the image
9. abbreviation = an abbreviation (such as an acronym) for the denomination
10. main_classification = (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc.)
11. orientation = (Catholic, Protestant, Eastern Orthodox, etc.)
12. scripture = the canon of religious text used by the denomination, including non-Bible works
13. theology = (main theology, e.g. Calvinism, Arminianism, Baptist)
14. polity = the appropriate ecclesiastical polity
15. governance = type of governance and/or governing body of the denomination
16. structure = organizational structure for groups that do not employ a standard ecclesiastical polity
17. leader_title = title of religious leader; defaults to "Moderator"
18. leader_name = name of religious leader
19. leader_title1 = title of religious leader; defaults to "Leader"
20. leader_name1 = name of religious leader
21. leader_title2 = title of religious leader; defaults to "Director"
22. leader_name2 = name of religious leader
23. leader_title3 = Custom leader title
24. leader_name3 = name of religious leader
25. fellowships_type = field to specify the type of fellowships, default "Distinct fellowships"
26. fellowships = names of distinct fellowships within the denomination
27. fellowships_type1 = Alternative fellowship description
28. fellowships_type1 = Alternative fellowships
29. division_type = Specify a custom division
30. division = Name or example of that division

37. associations = names of local, national, international associations the church is part of
38. area = geographical area, e.g. North America and Japan
39. language = language spoken or prevalent in liturgy, ceremonies, official documents, etc.

41. headquarters = Headquarters or main denominational office
42. founder = the original founder
43. founded_date = date of founding
44. founded_place = location of founding
45. separated_from = separation from (denomination)
46. branched_from = if the denomination branched off of a parent denomination
47. merger = if the denomination was the result of a merge
48. absorbed = names of denominations that were absorbed into this body
49. separations = names of denominations that have split off from this denomination
50. merged_into = name of existing denomination into which this body was merged
51. defunct = year in which this body ceased to exist if not merged with or into another denomination
52. congregations_type = type of congregation (default "Congregations")
53. congregations = number of congregations
54. members = number of members
55. ministers_type = specify the type of ministers/priests/pastors/...
56. ministers = number of ministers/priests/pastors/...
57. missionaries = number of missionaries
58. churches = number of churches
59. missionary organization = name of missionary organization
60. aid = name of humanitarian aid organization run by the church (see humanitarian aid)
61. hospitals = number of church-operated hospitals
62. nursing_homes = number of church-operated nursing homes
63. primary_schools = number of church-operated primary schools
64. secondary_schools = number of church-operated secondary/high schools
65. tax_status = tax classification (e.g., Internal Revenue Service 501c3 or equivalent) of the main body
66. tertiary = number of church-operated tertiary level colleges or universities
67. seminaries = number of church-operated seminaries
68. publications = names of the publications made by the denomination
69. other_names = alternative name or names by which the denomination is/was known
70. website = official website
71. website_title1 = alternative website title
72. website1 = alternative web address
73. slogan= Slogan
74. logo= Logo
75. module= Used for embedding other infoboxes into this one
76. footnotes = any footnotes
